How could an anime have made me cry even when no one died in the series?
I just finished the fourteenth episode of Code Geass, and the last five minutes had me sniffling in front of my laptop. All right, I did cry a little. Which is sort of ridiculous, because there was no death involved. Aside from that, I don't even like Shirley - who had practically the whole episode to herself.
I guess what moved me the most was Lelouch's expression when they saw each other again and he finally bid her goodbye. He said he lost a friend, and I felt horrible for him, because what he did was final: Not only did he say goodbye to her forever, but he made it go like they hadn't even met. It was pretty depressing, and I had to cry.
Obviously, Code Geass is genius. Even in Death Note I only cried when L and Light died (oops, is that a spoiler?), but in Code Geass I cried when no one hasn't even died yet. Huh. Not that I'm looking forward to anyone dying in the series anyway.
C.C.'s new look.
Goodbye to friends, I guess.
Shirley looking at Lelouch when they see each other again, after she loses her memories.
Lelouch says goodbye to Shirley.
And I still wonder. Did Lelouch really love Shirley? How curious. He certainly acted like he did, although he wouldn't admit it to himself. I don't like Shirley much, but I think this episode is crucial to highlight how everything has changed for Lelouch after he gains control of the Geass. It also underscores the fact that he has to give up the most important people to him if he really wants to continue playing the part of Zero and taking the Britannian Empire down.
I feel really bad for him. And I have a feeling I'll keep on crying in the next episodes. Damn Code Geass for having such fantastic plot.
There was some guy called Mao in the earlier bits of the show, and I think he's pretty obsessed with C.C. How creepy. I wonder if he'll play a bigger part later on.
Well, I gotta study now. No Code Geass for the rest of the week for me.

Haha, I just can't help myself clicking to your blog.:) But of course, I'm making sure that I'm done with this chapter. :) You wouldn't mind me commenting, Evette? :)
Oh shoot this episode made me go like, "What?! Shirley found out that Lelouch was Zero??" It was really a moment of suspense. Hahaha, CC's new look is way too far from her usual self. I mean, CC being kinda cold or introvert wearing um those?Hahaha. I can't believe Lelouch erased Shirley's memories! And it really did show that he kinda love her somehow? And what about that kiss?? :)) I feel bad for Lelouch... he's sacrificing too much. :(
Anyways, I am excited for the ending!Jeez, though my brother went upstairs and saw me watching then he suddenly blabbed about the ending and my classmate asked me what I'm doing and I said, "Watching Code Geass." and he just did what my brother did, again. So much for being excited. :( Killjoy. I'll just pretend that I didn't heard them. :D
