“In this world, there exists both evil brought forth with good intentions, and good brought forth through bad.”
This episode didn’t wow or interest me as much as the previous ones did, but it’s still good. It seems like the power of Geas is established here, particularly how it can be destructive to those who choose to accept C.C.’s contract and try to grant what she wishes.
Mao, from the previous episode, makes another appearance and highlights the fact that the Geass is sure to destroy its wielder if the person fails to conquer its power. C.C. granted him the Geass at age six, and this isolated him from others. One thing about the Geas he uses is that he can’t stop it – he hears everyone’s thoughts even when he doesn’t want to.
Is that a perfectly good reason to turn psycho? Well, I think so. I watched the episode in my laptop, so I had my headphone plugged in. The episode presented the people’s thoughts as how Mao heard them, and they were unarguably annoying, to say the least. I can’t imagine how anyone could have endured that without going nuts. Well, Mao went nuts, so…yeah. The Geas defeated him in this sense.
I’m given a whole new perspective of C.C. Actually, I’m not sure; being confused about her motives isn’t exactly a good perspective. I still wonder what her wish is, since the series hasn’t disclosed what it is thus far. (Or has it and I missed it? Dang.) It’s obvious she’s been looking for someone who can use the Geas without being defeated by its power, but why? What happened to her in the past – what does she want to gain out of all this? She’s aware she can/is going to destroy the lives of the people that get involved in the Geas, but why does she continue offering the tempting contract to people like Lelouch? Is she supposed to be a friend or an enemy? (I refuse to categorize her as good or bad, as Oscar Wilde should turn in his grave if I say this, hahaha.)
In any case, the LelouchC.C. pairing is growing on me. I see that Lelouch is not heartless at all, and he considers C.C. quite important to him. Of course the line that separates his need and want for her is very thin, but it can be drawn somewhere (later in the series, I hope!). Besides, he knows her real name! (It seems like a big deal, so I’m making it a big deal.)
“C.C., I will not fall to the Geas. I will conquer this power and bend it to my will. I will change the whole world. I will grant both your wish and my own. I will fulfill the promise that he [Mao] could not. So…”
“Lelouch… are you trying to comfort me, to pity me, or to win me back?”
“It’s a contract, this time coming from me to you.”
“Very well. I accept your contract.”
I think their fates are sealed.
It’s more dramatic in the episode itself, but that’s how the last three minutes went. LelouchC.C.? Hell, yes.
More screenshots. I took them myself.
Lelouch looks waaayyy too adorable here.
OugiViletta is interesting.
I’m very, very curious how the next episodes would play out. Will Lelouch really conquer the Geas – and not fall like how Light lost himself to the power of Death Note? Curious, curious. I’m itching to find out what happens next.
“The Geas: Those who use this inhuman power create unbearable emotional pain, and straddle the lines between good and evil. However, if one of them can break free of this grey area, he will truly have gained the key to becoming the master of all.”
Will Lelouch Lamperouge successfully become the master of all?
I can't wait to find out. (Okay, maybe I can, because I have exams.)

Ha, loved that line. :)
At this moment, I'm confuse about CC too. And what is her real name, anyway?Hahaha. Poor Mao.
Well, at least I think this will be the start for Lelouch and CC, eh? :)
Can I share something? :)
Well, as I was cleaning my room, I saw this poster I bought last summer at China( Ha, I got to study and tour around there for 2 months!). Now that I look at it, ha! Its a Code Geass poster! All along I thought it was Gundam Seed(I based it with the pink-haired girl, Lacus, I think?Haha, it was Euphie now that I realize it). I was suppose to give that to my friend who was a Gundam Seed fanatic. Good thing I haven't. :) Lucky me. :D
Shame on me, what I shared was longer than my comment. Sorry. :)
And again,
